4 dead and at least 31 wounded in Chicago shootings this weekend

According to a report from NBC Chicago, 4 were killed and at least 31 wounded in Chicago shootings this weekend.

Per NBC News:

In the first fatal shooting of the weekend, a man was shot and killed Friday afternoon in the 6600 block of South Oakley. According to authorities, two individuals were on the street when a person in a passing vehicle fired shots at them.

A 35-year-old man was hit in the head, and was taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A 14-year-old girl was hit in the thigh and ankle, and is in good condition at Comer Children’s Hospital.

At approximately 10 p.m. Friday, a 25-year-old man was dropped off at Holy Cross Hospital by an acquaintance after he had been shot in the right shoulder and hip. Police say the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No suspects are in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.

On Sunday, an 18-year-old man was shot and killed after being shot multiple times at approximately 4:51 p.m. in the 11300 block of South Harvard, police stated.

The man and a 50-year-old male were in a backyard when they were approached by an unknown individual who displayed a gun and fired shots, police said. The 18-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The 50-year-old male was struck in the leg and said to be in good condition at the hospital.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot did not tweet about the shootings on Twitter.

On Sunday, Lightfoot tweeted “Dropping temps usually means flu season is right around the corner. Protect your immune system and get a FREE flu shot at one of our clinics around town”

Earlier on the same day, the Chicago Democrat Mayor shared a photo of herself and the hashtag #BEARDOWN.

Saturday, Ligthtfoot tweeted about voting by mail.

On the same day, she also tweeted about the census.
